25x25mm Profigips Aluminium Corner Bead - Mottled Finish is features a textured, granular surface rather than a smooth, mill finish. This creates a superior mechanical key, ensuring that the jointing compound or thin-coat plaster adheres aggressively to the metal spine. It is the professional choice for high-traffic areas where the risk of the plaster popping or delaminating from the bead is a concern. The mottled finish is not just an aesthetic choice; it is a functional engineering detail designed to solve a very specific problem on-site: the mechanical bond between metal and plaster. While aluminium is durable, this specific mottled bead is designed for internal gypsum environments.

CHARACTERISTICS

  • The mottled, textured surface provides thousands of tiny anchor points for the plaster. This significantly reduces the chance of the skim coat cracking or peeling away from the nose of the bead over time.
  • The non-reflective, textured finish is easier to cover with paint. Unlike smooth aluminium, which can sometimes flash through thin layers of light-coloured paint, the mottled surface helps to diffuse light and blend the corner into the wall.
  • It is manufactured to provide a perfect 90-degree apex. It ensures that every external corner is plumb, straight, and sharp enough to satisfy the most demanding architectural inspection.
  • Made from high-grade aluminium, it is naturally resistant to the alkaline environment of gypsum plasters. It has a reinforced corner.
  • It is stiff enough to straighten out wonky plasterboard cuts but flexible enough to be snipped and adjusted easily with tin snips during a fast-paced installation.
